Dreams, Only Dreams

As I lay in darkness,
Dreaming of the light that eludes me,
I imagine my soft caress,
Traveling down her perfect back.

My hands slowly work her warm skin,
Rhythmically banishing the tension.
Her delicate form relaxes,
Her consciousness floating free.

As I ease my self down next to her,
I smell her luscious scent.
Her hair, her breath, her all,
Seeping through my awareness.

And as I hold her deliciousness close,
An ache of purest desire permeates me,
If only this were more than a dream,
If only she would grant me her favor.

As I lay in darkness,
Dreaming of light that eludes me,
I tremble a little as the sadness sweeps me,
And I resign myself to dreams, only dreams.
